Who knew last week when Assemblywoman Mary Hayashi’s attorney sprung the now infamous brain tumor defense on the East Bay that its popularity would spread across the country?
Former presidential candidate John Edwards is set to stand trial on various campaign fundraising violation in North Carolina.
Edwards, 58, doesn’t have a brain tumor, but today, according to the AP, his doctor told a judge the trial may need to be postponed because Edwards has a life-threatening heart condition.
Unlike Hayashi, though, the condition needs to be treated quickly, according to the cardiologist.
Edwards faces six felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from $1 million from wealthy donors in 2008, including an elderly heiress with an affinity for the wonderfully-coiffed candidate.
